Billy’s Doghouse was born from a unforgettable road trip, a bit of affectionate family slang, and a whole lot of love.
Years ago, my father Brian and I took an epic trip up to the north end of Vancouver Island and caught the ferry over to Quadra Island to visit a fishing resort my uncle co-owned. Somewhere along the journey, we randomly started calling each other "Billy." What began as an inside joke quickly caught on, completely replacing our real names when speaking to one another and sticking with us as a term of pure endearment right up until the day he passed.
When it came time to name this food trailer, calling it Billy’s Dawg House felt like the ultimate way to honor my dad—celebrating his absolute love for hot dogs, keeping his vibrant memory alive, and honoring the special bond the two of us shared. Every hot dog we serve is a tribute to that connection, to family, and to the legendary "Billy" himself.
